George Gatewood, C.P., C.PED

George is a Georgia & Alabama Licensed American Board Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist, as well as a Certified Ped-Orthotist. Specializing in lower extremity Prosthetics and Orthotics, he is also a foot and ankle specialist (C.Ped) and trainied in all other aspects of the O&P profession and has 22 years of experience. In addition to his clinical load, George is the owner of Gatewood Prosthetics.


After receiving his Bachelors degree from Auburn University in Exercise Physiology, George entered the O&P field. He received his post-graduate education at Northwestern University (Medical School). He began his O&P work in Columbus, GA and did his early work with “The Hughston Clinic”, a world renowned Orthopedic University/Hospital, while managing an O&P practice. He participated as a Team Prostetist for the American Para-Olympics in 1996. In 2001, George opened Gatewood Prosthetics.


On a personal note, George is married to his business partner, Jennifer and has 2 children. He loves the outdoors, and considers Hunting/Fishing one of his passions. Also, he grows Sago Palms as a hobby. He loves watching college football and Auburn University is “his” team.
